Love in different cultures
Photographs
2020 — 2023
This is a photo series of observations of human relationships under different cultural contexts. The way of showing love is related to the society in which individuals are raised and how the culture (beliefs, meanings, customs, ideas, language, and norms) affects behavior. Besides cultures, the interactions between humans are also affected by locations and environments.

The series curated love in five different locations, including a museum, a restaurant, a festival, a street, and an outdoor well. You can see the power dynamics through their actions, eye contact, and gestures. Well, we humans are complex beings, aren’t we?

“Human behavior is an enormously complex set of things, and that mixture of underlying things is different for different people, so it's not just complex, it's meta-complex.”
